The huge success of Aquaman in the United States and the rest of the world has transformed the superhero that once was a mockery of a real money-making machine, reaching $ 1.09 billion at the box office and becoming the biggest movie ever of DC Comics.
The brand was hit this weekend. As a result, the film starring Jason Momoa surpasses Batman: The Dark Knight Ressurge, the last film in the Christopher Nolan trilogy that grossed $ 1.08 worldwide.
The historic brand, however, requires a caveat. If one considers the inflation of the period between the release of The Dark Knight Rises in July 2012, and today, the Batman movie earned the equivalent of $ 1.18 billion.

However, as Aquaman continues to feature in the top positions of most viewed films in several countries, including the US, the trend is that Arthur Cury's story will surpass the end of Christian Bale's bat-man saga even with the corrected values.
The great success of Aquaman is mainly due to the box office outside the US and Canada. While the feature grossed $ 316.6 million in the domestic market to date, revenue in other countries has already reached the $ 774.2 million mark.
Still under Marvel
Despite being a hit, Aquaman is "only" the seventh comic adaptation to the most profitable movie theater in history. The top six on the list are occupied by Marvel movies.
First, Avengers appears: Infinite War, with $ 2.04 billion global box office. They complete the list Avengers ($ 1.51 billion), Avengers: Age of Ultron ($ 1.4 billion), Black Panther ($ 1.34 billion), Iron Man 3 ($ 1.21 billion) and Captain America: Civil War (US $ 1.15 billion).
