Russian aircraft Il-62M and An-124 arrived at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas. Both flights originated Khmerim Air Base in Syria.
Photographs posted on social networks show that there are people close to the IL-62M who look like the military - an alglomeration of men with backpacks and tactical bags. It is suspected that they are fighters of the Russian private military company, whose presence in Venezuela was previously denied. However, so far it is just speculation.
However, the fact that the planes have left Syria, where Wagner's PMCs operate, and also the military force of the Armed Forces of the official Russian Federation, makes it possible to raise such suspicions. It is also strange the arrival of the cargo transport plane An-124. As a rule, it is used for the transportation of large and heavy equipment, including military use.
